Today was our first official knit-flix gathering! We had a great turn-out, with about a half-dozen who came early for a knitting lesson, and about a dozen total knitters by the time we started our movie. There were many delicious "English themed" treats brought, in honor of our movie selection, "Emma." It was such a great spread that I totally forgot about all the cucumbers I had sliced up and sitting in the fridge to make finger sandwiches. I made them up anyway and enjoyed them for dinner in our lonely empty house after our guests all went home.

Everyone had a great time: we half watched, half chatted our way through the movie, had some good eats, many of us learned a new skill, and all of us did some service! I even finished my first scarf for donation, though I still have lots of ends to weave in. Lots of us took work home and extra yarn to keep themselves busy until our next meeting.

Thanks again to everyone for coming and dedicating some of your time and talents to help those in need! Remember, the Warm Welcome Coat Drive, held by the IRC, begins in September, so set a goal to finish however many scarves (or hats, or even gloves if you're ambitious!) you would like to make before then. If you would like information on our next meeting, please message me at knitflixnetwork@gmail.com.
